Parent Council
The Woodberry Down Parent Council is a small group of parent representatives from a range of year groups across the school. It is intended that, at the start of each school year, a representative is sought from each year group to join the group. Parents are invited to nominate themselves for the role or to suggest a member of the parent community for the position.
The group was created to give the families at the school the opportunities to express their views, opinions and ideas. We seek to involve our families in the quest to raise standards and achievements and to improve provision within the school.
The group meets six times per year, once per half term. In advance of each meeting, an agenda is agreed by the council members and school staff through taking items suggested by the wider school community for discussion. The group also meets to participate in learning walks and meetings with the student council during the school year.
Actions taken as a result of discussions and suggestions in meetings are shared with the wider community through letters from senior leaders. Initiatives such as Come Dine with Me and additional family support sessions have been introduced as a result of the dedication of the group.
